Faith & Practice - Learn about Family Promise

Family Promise has become an important ministry at Christ Church. It is a program that helps transitionally homeless families. Christ Church will be providing safe housing and food for our guests the week of March 10. Come and learn more about the program, how you and your family can get involved, and have a lot of fun doing it!! We also invite those who have participated to share their experiences.

All volunteers must attend an orientation. Please come to Faith & Practice which will be followed by more specific volunteer training at 11:30. Questions? Please contact Elizabeth Parkinson at 847-910-8932 or email.

Middle and high school youth are invited to join Faith & Practice on Sunday as they will be present during the week of Family Promise to run the activities portion of each night. During the presentation they will also be making "Welcome" posters to decorate the rooms and hallways.

Would you like to learn more about the Episcopal Church? Here is something just for you!

Starting Sunday, March 10, Christ Church is offering an Inquirers' Class, a comprehensive introduction to the Episcopal Church. The class consists of five sessions, each with a different topic.

All classes will be taught by our Rector, The Rev. Christopher Powell, and will be held on Sundays, 4:00-5:15pm at the church (784 Sheridan Rd.) Dates are Mar. 10, Mar. 17, Apr. 7, Apr.14 and Apr. 28. As part of the class, we will be using the book A People Called Episcopalians. You don't have to purchase the book. We will have copies available.

After the completion of the class, any participants who wish to do so may be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church at Confirmation on May 7 at 7:30pm at Christ Church.

Please register for the class with Charlotte McGee in the church office. Childcare is available. If you need childcare, please let Charlotte know when you sign up.
Lenten Suppers & Program - Thurs. 3/14-4/10

For five Thursday evenings in Lent (6-7:45PM) we will gather for Compline, supper, and a program. This year we will explore "The Way of Love: practices for a Je sus-centered life." Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is inviting
churches around the world to prepare for Easter by reflecting on seven practices that guide a life of discipleship in today's world. See Bishop Curry's introduction to the practices here.

Please join us at the Church on the Hill (784 Sheridan Road, Winnetka) for Compline at 6:00pm, followed by supper at 6:15, and the program from 7-7:45. Children and Youth are invited to come to the Youth Room for a corresponding Way of Love program. The Nursery will be open all evening.

FRIDAY, APRIL 5, 2019
Please join us for an evening of  guaranteed fun and scrumptious food as
we gather in fellowship to meet new friends and catch up with old ones.

Friendly Officers at Christ Church

From time to time, you may see a Winnetka Police officer sitting quietly at the back of our church, or walking around the building. That's because the police in our area are partnering with local schools and houses of worship so that they can become familiar with the buildings and meet some of the people, in order to be a visible, approachable and supportive presence in the community. We are grateful to them! Feel free to stop and say hello.
