WTS NC Triangle Express
,
Hope you're enjoying the pendulum warm and cold winter ( I know I am ) but also looking forward to spring time. We had a very engaging and though t provoking successful annual retreat in the end of January where we discussed the 2020 plan for our chapter. There are a lot of exciting changes coming to the NC Triangle Chapter, so be on the look out for these as they unfold over the year.

We are also running a membership drive till the end of March so please contact our membership chair, Sara Loukili, for details. And I am very excited about two great events coming up at end of March (the Southeast Rail Forum) and beginning of April (NCDOT's Mobi Awards). Sponsorship opportunities for both of these events are still available.

'Til next time!!!

WTS NC Triangle Book Club

This month's selection is Power Up: How Smart Women Win in the New Economy by Magdalena Yesil with Sara Grace. Pioneering Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor Yesil came to the United States in 1976 with two suitcases and $43, blind to the challenges she would face as a woman and immigrant in Silicon Valley. Today, she is best known as the first investor and a founding board member of Salesforce, the now multibillion dollar company that ushered in the era of cloud-based computing. In Power Up, Yesil urges women to look beyond the alarming gender statistics of the workplace and feel confident entering tech or any field-but also to be prepared to deal with the challenges. She shares what she experienced as a woman in Silicon Valley with surprising candor and heart, relying not just on her insight but that of more than a dozen top women entrepreneurs.

We will feature a book each month recommended by our members for our members. If you want to recommend a book for this space, send the suggestion to Leslie Tracey, newsletter editor.
