2019 Summer Camp  Brochures are here!


Attention all Units attending Summer Camp,

Why the New February 1, 2019 Camp Payment Deadline is so Important!

Last summer some weeks of summer camp were overbooked. We heard your concerns and looked at how other Councils prevent this problem from occurring. New for the summer of 2019, $50 per person youth or adult attending Cub Scout Resident Camp and $60 per person youth or adult attending Webelos Resident Camp or Scouts BSA Resident Camp is due on February 1, 2019.

Unit summer camp attendance numbers will be based on and adjusted to the number of paid deposits received from each unit on February 1, 2019

All campsite space and weekly camp availability for each session of camp will be based on the number of paid deposits received on February 1, 2019.

Webelos Resident Camp Week 1 is currently full and closed. Webelos Resident Camp Week 1 could reopen if additional space becomes available after February 1, 2019.

Scouts BSA Troops will be able to start signing up scouts for Merit Badge classes on February 1 based on the number of deposits paid on February 1, 2019.


January 18-19, 2019 at Camp Tuckahoe!

Winterfest is a weekend away at Camp Tuckahoe with all meals included and all indoor and outdoor activities planned.

Winterfest is for all registered Tiger Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts. Every Scout must attend with a parent or guardian. This event is limited to 200 Scouts and Adults so be sure to register fast! Special Note: All Adults attending must complete BSA Youth Protection Training to attend this event. Female Scouts must be accompanied b y a female parent.

Sign Up For Philmont Trek 2019
June 19 - July 3, 2019
Only two spots currently remain available to attend Philmont in 2019 as part of the New Birth of Freedom Council's contingent of three crews. If those four spots are filled in the near future, the Council does have the option to add a fourth crew (another 12 spots).

Are you planning for your pack or troop at attend summer camp at either Camp Tuckahoe or Hidden Valley in 2019? 
Make your unit's $100 summer camp deposit by December 1, 2018 and receive one exclusive free polo shirt (they look sharp!). The only way to receive this shirt for free is to make your 2019 reservation by the end of day on December 1, 2018.

Your Troop Can Save $25 Per Person
For all Scout Troops attending Camp Tuckahoe in 2019, if you attend during the  July 28 - August 3, 2019 session (Week #4), you'll receive a $25 discount per person

That's all there is to saving some real money on summer camp next year!
Now Hiring For 2019 Summer Camp Staff
The New Birth of Freedom Council is currently seeking the following seasonal staff positions for Camp Tuckahoe and Hidden Valley Scout Reservation. Food service staff are not required to live at the camp. All positions start in early June and end in mid-August. Room and board is included.

Program Director or Business Manager Minimum age 21
Shooting Sports or ATV Director -  Minimum age 21
Health Officer (EMT, LPN or RN) - Minimum age 21
Aquatics or Climbing Director Minimum age 21
Cooks/Food Prep Staff or Archery Director -  Minimum age 18
Nature Director or STEM Director Minimum age 18
Asst. Rangers or Scoutcraft Director - Minimum age 18
Eagles Nest Director or Climbing Staff  - Minimum age 18
BSA or Red Cross Lifeguards  - Minimum age 15
Sports and Games or Handicraft - Minimum age 15
Nature or Scoutcraft Staff - Minimum age 15
Waterfront, Handicraft, STEM, Eagles Nest Staff or Office Clerk Minimum age 15
Trading Post, Kitchen or Quartermaster Staff  -  Minimum age 15
