On this 17th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, we take pause to remember the loss we experienced as a country, and be grateful for everything we have. And as catastrophic flooding threatens the Atlantic coast, we can be especially thankful for the peaceful weather we get to enjoy this week, as summer temperatures hang on a little longer, but the crispness of fall is in the air.
We have four more weekends of the Golden Farmers Market, as well as activities such as the Golden Sidewalk Sale this Saturday and In Plein Sight happening all over Golden and Jefferson County, all of which take advantage of the beautiful September weather we've been enjoying.
Keep reading for a rundown of what's happening in Golden, and have a great week.

September 12 - 16 will feature all of the works of art created during the week, with paintings added daily as the artists produce their pieces. All artwork is available for purchase and on display at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th St.
In Plein Sight debuted in 2016 as a way to celebrate Jeffco Open Space Parks and serve as a cornerstone event for the volunteer-led conservation nonprofit PLAN Jeffco. Plein air, defined as "open air," was developed in the mid-19th century by French Impressionists including Monet, Pissarro and Renoir. The idea behind this event is to bring awareness to the gorgeous landscape around us, and teach residents and visitors how to conserve the great outdoors.

New Projects on Guiding Golden
We have several ongoing projects, and some that are brand new to GuidingGolden.com so it always pays to check in regularly.
You also have an opportunity to weigh in on the
2019/2020 Biennial Budget Process through Guiding Golden. A good portion of the budget is always used to maintain our existing infrastructure, including water systems, street repair, snow plowing and parks. The City wants to look beyond maintaining infrastructure, however, to see how we can make Golden the best place it can possibly be for our residents and is asking for your ideas.
Another project looking for ideas comes from the Golden History Museum & Park looking for possible items to add to a
2018 Time Capsule. In November of this year we will be unearthing a time capsule buried 50 years ago and replacing it with a new one. What should we add to the new time capsule for future generations to uncover?
There are more projects at
GuidingGolden.com actively seeking feedback, including
Singletrack Sidewalks, Affordable Housing, Short Term Rentals, Golden Investment Forums, Hunger Free Golden Community Collaborative and
Planning Projects.
