Core value #3: Community
Last Week of Zoom

As social distancing practices continue, zoom calls -- which at least offered a form of live interaction -- are coming to a close. One more week folks! We're grateful to students, teachers and parents, all of whom have had to continue to push through new challenges together.

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.

Drive-in Graduation
Seniors on the Big Screen.
Graduation is
this Wednesday!

To accommodate a large crowd, while in compliance with social distancing, Lake Pointe has moved its commencement ceremony to Hounds Drive-In theater in Kings Mountain, NC.

Wednesday, May 20, 2020
- Ceremony starts at 8:30 p.m.
- Gates open for spectators at 7:00 - Gates close at 8:00 p.m.

The creative choice for an outdoor site allows for the largest possible range of the LPA community and its guests to attend.
Invited to this private event are extended family, student peers, teachers, coaches, alumni, and even siblings. There is room for 250 or more cars at the drive-in site.
Those with serious health concerns and issues, may remain in their vehicles.
Attendees will be permitted to sit in folding chairs or the back of a vehicle, as long as they remain in their parking space, and as long as the vehicle height (or hatch door) does not block those behind.
As part of the experience, the concession stand will be open. Bathrooms will also be open.
Social distancing will be practiced, with the most recent rules distributed at the drive-in gate.

Students & Starfish
Stacey Haese's 7th grade science class dissected a starfish from home on Wednesday. Talk about guts!
But seriously, you can't make this stuff up folks. Families picked up starfish so that each individual student could dissect the specimens in their own homes. Great application and parent assistance!

Staying Busy
Nothing like a classic smiley balloon to get the spirits up!

The balloon was used in a junior high science experiment.

Life at home can be hard. Social distancing has been a tough adjustment for everyone, especially families. We appreciate all that the Lake Pointe families are doing to help. Please accept this smiley balloon as a token of our appreciation.
