Pennsylvania Community Transit Industry Faces a Potential Crisis
On June 22, 2018, the state legislature adopted language into the Human Services Fiscal Code (HB 1677) directing the Department of Human Services (DHS) to provide the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) through a statewide or regional full-risk brokerage system. What does this mean? It has the potential to dismantle the fully coordinated transit program that is nationally recognized as one of the best, and fifth most cost effective in the country. The Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association believes the impact to the Commonwealth could be as high as $31 million. This could place additional financial need on the State, create a reduction in the level of service currently being offered and a loss of local jobs. If you are concerned, we urge you to contact your Pennsylvania State Representative, Senator or the Governor’s office to encourage them to take action against advancing PA Brokering.

Emergency Ride Home Program for Commuters
Commuters who ride share, walk, bike, or use transit have this common concern:
What do I do in an emergency?
The answer: rabbittransit's partner Commuter Services of PA offers a FREE Emergency Ride Home Program to commuters. ERH applicants must create a Commute PA account at
PACommuterServices.org
, then record at least 2 commute trips to work per week (set up a "recurring trip" to save time). In case of emergency, the commuter will then find and pay for their emergency ride home. The emergency ride home will be reimbursed up to $100, up to 6 times a year. Find out more by visiting
PACommuterServices.org.
