COVID-19 Updates
The Commonwealth's face-covering order has been rescinded
People of all ages throughout the state are excited for this big step towards resuming normalcy and our pre-COVID ways. Though the mask requirements are being updated and we can ditch the masks in our daily routines of running errands and going out to eat, it is important to remember that face-coverings will be required in certain settings. These settings include the following:

  • On Public & Private Transportation
  • Inside K-12 Public Schools, Collaboratives, Approved Special Education Schools
  • Inside Childcare Programs
  • In Health Care Facilities and Provider Offices
  • In Health Care and Rehabilitative Day Services & Programs
  • Congregate Care
  • Care in the Community

For those who are NOT vaccinated, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) advises that face-coverings continue to be worn in indoor settings and when social distancing is not possible.

June: The Start of Summer &
A Month Dedicated to Health and Wellness
The sun's out and people are out and about!

Wishing all of you a very happy summer! It has been a long winter and we are all looking forward to enjoying the fresh air and seeing smiling familiar *mask less* faces!

The ABC Home Healthcare Professionals Team would like to remind you, as the temperatures rise, to take extra care of yourself and your loved ones. Wear sunscreen when spending time out in the sun and stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking water or drinks with added electrolytes (avoiding drinks high in sugar content).

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month
Alzheimer's disease is currently ranked as the 6th leading cause of death in the US and experts suggest that more than 5.5 million Americans 65 years of age and older may have dementia caused by Alzheimer's.

Scientists and medical researchers across the globe continuously search for a definitive cause of Alzheimer's and a cure so that, one day, we will be free from this disease. Though there is no cure currently, there are steps you can take to halt the progression of symptoms...

A Month Dedicated to Promoting Men's Health
Did you know...

  1. Men are less likely to seek healthcare than women
  2. Prostate Cancer affects one in nine men
  3. Mental health is one of the most stigmatized issues affecting men
  4. The average man should be making better lifestyle choices to protect his health

There are many steps we can take as a society to support the men in our lives and ensure that they are putting their health first and foremost.

We Celebrate National Safety Month
One of the most important reasons for observing National Safety Month is to work together to prevent incidents before they start.

This is exactly what we, at ABC, strive to do each and everyday with the care that we provide to our clients. Our mission is to keep our clients living a safe and healthy life in the comfort of their own home!

Planning for your future and/or the future care of your loved ones is critical especially during these uncertain times.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All: Spreading Awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) & How We Can Best Support Our Veterans
Anyone can develop PTSD but our veterans are the most common population to have it so severely that it can impact their ability to live safely and independently in their homes.

Aid & Attendance benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs can help veterans and their spouses afford home care.

Supporting the Communities We Serve
ABC Home Healthcare Proudly Sponsors EJ Paving's 9th Annual "Road to a Cure" Golf Outing to support the Pan Mass Challenge
At ABC, we are committed to the fight against cancer which is why we are proud to support organizations, such as EJ Paving, who are participating in the Pan Mass Challenge to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

If you would like to donate to this fantastic cause, you can easily do so here!

Wishing "Team Road Strong" lots of luck in this year's ride!
Supporting a More Dementia Friendly Community for All
ABC Home Healthcare Professionals is proud to say that we have our own Dementia Friends Champion right here in-house!

Our Business Development Manager, Michelle McNall, has just completed the course required to be able to train others within the community on how to become more dementia friendly and inclusive for all!

Are you interested in learning more about Dementia or would you, your family or your organization benefit from a Dementia Friends training?

The Fun Stuff
Can You Guess It?

From the mountains of New Hampshire, through the coasts of Maine to Cape Cod, tourists have always flocked to popular New England destinations during the summer months.

It comes as no surprise that, in 1896, this Massachusetts beach became America's first public beach. Which beach is it?

Fun With Words

Word searches are a fun way to pass the time but, more importantly, they are a great exercise for the brain!
