Colorado Funeral Home
Accused of Selling Body Parts
|
|
Burg Simpson now represents more than 50 families who claim that the owners of the Sunset Mesa Funeral Home in Montrose, Colorado victimized them by selling the body parts of their recently deceased loved ones. The lawsuit estimates that the funeral home was making approximately $40,000 a month from the sale of human body parts on the black market.
Burg Simpson shareholder David TeSelle, co-leader of the firm's
Commercial Litigation Department
, said, “
These grieving families need and deserve to know why the sacred remains of their family members were stolen from them, and why they were given back dry cement or sand and told it was their loved ones’ ashes.”
The owners of the Sunset Mesa Funeral Home are currently under investigation by the FBI, Colorado regulators have shut down the funeral home, and the lawyers at Burg Simpson are working tirelessly to hold the defendants accountable for their horrific conduct, and bring justice to the families who have suffered.
