DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS
Cost Recovery Strategy
After more than a year, the dialogue around cost recovery for Parks & Recreation programs and services is moving into its final phase. The final proposal on cost recovery will be presented at the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on February 13.
Session IV Registration Open
Registration for Session IV programs is now open. Session IV will begin on March 18 and run through June 4. Programs include Afterschool Action, ASSET Clubs, School Days Off, Middle School Clubs, and Teens on Tour. Don't miss out, register today!
New Permit Process Launched
Planning a special event? The City of Steamboat Springs recently unveiled a new process that aims to streamline the event permitting process. The new structure now consolidates three separate permits into one simplified city-wide application and process.
Hockey All-Star Jamboree
The Howelsen Ice Complex will be hosting an Adult Hockey celebration on the weekend of February 16 - 17. Weekend festivities are open to all Adult League players of every level. The event will include both a Skills Competition and All-Star game.
Howelsen Hill First Tracks
Howelsen Hill offers an amazing deal weekdays from 11 AM to 1 PM. Take an early lunch break and be the first to carve turns on Howelsen Hill. For only $10, you get unlimited laps with no lines. Enjoy midday powder and untracked groomers all season long.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Moonlight Snowshoe Tour
Join a Yampatika Naturalist for a fun moonlight snowshoe tour on Emerald Mountain. The tour will take place on Tuesday, February 19 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. You'll enjoy a beautiful tour of Emerald Mountain while also learning local and natural history.
Hitchens Brothers' Jump Series
The Hitchens Brothers' Wednesday Night Jump Series, presented by Nordic Excavating, soars into action again on Wednesday, February 13th. The high-flying jump series is open to skiers age 13 years and younger, and registration is FREE (ticket required).

Yampatika Steamboat Springs
Yampatika is on a mission to inspire environmental stewardship through education. They partner with the City of Steamboat Springs on numerous programs and educational initiatives throughout the year, and manage the Learning Center at Legacy Ranch.
