VICA's Congressional Luncheon
Allison Barnett from Health Net moderating a discussion with Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA 30th District)
Today, during VICA's Congressional Luncheon, members had the privilege to meet with some of California’s most prominent elected officials. The VICA Congressional event is a unique and fun opportunity to directly engage elected officials from Washington who represent California in a “Ted Talk” type format. VICA members had a chance to hear a discussion from Congressmembers Mike Garcia, Jimmy Gomez, John Garamendi and Brad Sherman. The event started with a networking session, where VICA members could catch up and build relationships even in a remote setting.

During the program, topics from the Congressmembers ranged from U.S foreign policy, climate change, COVID-19 recovery efforts, stopping crime, expansion and growing business. They all shared and agreed that COVID-19 relief and small business recovery are one of their top priorities. The congressional delegation got the chance to engage with VICA members to discuss solutions on how our we can best work with Washington to strengthen our regional economy.

The lunch was presented by Comcast NBCUniversal & Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Thank you to Congressmembers Mike Garcia, Jimmy Gomez, and John Garamendi for sharing your insight, and to the members who joined us!
