Why do these words resonate with us? Is it because we have become more persistent during this past year? Is it because we have opened our hearts with empathy towards those that have suffered? Is it because we need to try harder to achieve these personal qualities?
Like the Dalai Lama, we at Yoga Mind Li believe wholeheartedly that problems can only be solved through the heart of a lion when we have achieved happiness, health, wellness, and success. We must develop the heart as well as the mind. We must strive to show compassion to everyone, work for peace and…Never give up and never stop believing in ourselves and in our loved ones.
Never give up on our own personal journey and those around you.
Yoga may be a new experience for you and certain poses can seem too difficult or challenging. You may never be able to do a headstand, and that is okay, or you might have trouble finding time for your practice, but you should never give up on following a practice that is suited to and beneficial to you. This month I am welcoming you to join us on our path of the Lion…as we never give up.
Never Give Up On Your Mat: Connect with your inner lion or lioness.
Tip #1: Focus on your breath.
Tip #2: Focus on your own practice, not the person next to you. Go at your own pace.
Tip #3: Modify poses whenever necessary.
Tip #4: Take breaks whenever necessary; even if you do this frequently during the class! Child’s pose, half pigeon, happy baby, and even taking Savasana (your final resting pose) are all great options.
Tip #5: Remember, it’s your practice. Make it work for you.
Tip #6: Keep coming back!
