March 13, 2020
Dear Residents,
As information evolves quickly surrounding COVID-19, our goal is the health and safety of residents, staff, and following recommendations from local and state health officials. In prior pandemics, limiting gatherings, reducing close contact of people not regularly together has proven effective in delaying rates of transmission and reducing illness and death, according to California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Social distancing is a practice currently recommended by public health officials, and in an effort to align with recommendations from
El Dorado County Health and Human Services
, and
California Department of Public Health
to protect our residents most at risk, and to slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19 in our region, El Dorado Hills Community Services District (EDHCSD) will make the following closure(s) for public safety:

The Governor’s
Executive Order
and
Public Health Order
requires the EDHCSD to take steps toward compliance. Meetings held at EDHCSD will need to follow the most up-to-date recommended precautions, which currently include, holding small gatherings in a large enough venue to add six feet of distance between where individuals sit or stand, encouraging handwashing, avoiding direct physical contact such as handshaking, hand holding, and hugging. What is Social Distancing?
Social distancing is a practice recommended by public health officials to stop or slow down the spread of contagious diseases. It requires the creation of physical space between individuals who may spread certain infectious diseases. The key is to minimize the number of gatherings as much as possible and to achieve space between individuals when events or activities cannot be modified, postponed, or cancelled.
CDPH currently advises approximately six feet between individuals during meetings and gatherings. Further, they explain, “there is particular focus on creating space between individuals who have come together for a one-time or rare basis and who have very different travel patterns such as those coming from multiple countries, states or counties.”
Yours in good health,
