Greetings!

Well! Things have certainly progress at an rapid rate concerning the COVID-19 virus. I am concerned for those who are at risk, and also for those who may be hard hit financially. So I want to offer the following: if you have paid for the next art course "Canadian Landscapes" and find yourself in financial stress in the next while because of the quarantine situation, please just email me at any time and I will refund 100% of your art course fee.

This too will pass. It's a different kind of adventure that no one signed up for, but we are all in it together!

I have switched the current course to an online format. Considering that I was working toward having online courses ready to offer in about 8 months from now, it's a huge task! Still, I am grateful that I can do this. And for students willing to make this switch too. Some of you are stepping out of your comfort zone to do so!

Canadian Landscapes is starting mid April. In 2 weeks time I will decide whether or not it will also be an online course.

Remembering some lovely forest walks, I followed my heart by putting together the above painting. This also involved trying a new product, Derwent Inktense blocks. The ink is most obvious in the black lines, but some of the green is ink as well. Sort of like using pastel sticks except - the really fun thing about Inktense sticks is - when you put water on them, they flow. Some colours flow a lot more than others, but overall I am enjoying the effect. What a great way to integrate some lines into a painting. You can buy Inktense by the individual stick, so you don't have to buy the whole kit to try them.

Stay safe and well, and paint more! It's one of the few ways you can go to the forest without leaving home. (Twyla Thorp, sort of.)
