WHAT'S HAPPENING AT MONONA PUBLIC LIBRARY
It's that MAGICAL time of year again, when our Summer Reading Program is about to blast off! You can bet we are bursting with enthusiasm, especially since we not only have a new virtual summer reading program (Beanstack) but also have our doors open to the public and will be hosting a wealth of outdoor summer programs!

We have made our reading program virtual with all the same benefits: that good feeling as you reach your literacy goals, while also earning fabulous prizes! Participants will earn tickets to enter into random drawings for prizes as they complete reading and activity badges. Sign up June 1 to July 31 at: mononalibrary.beanstack.org. If you prefer a paper tracking system, download the Reading Log here or pick up a copy at Monona Public Library during open hours. Visit mononalibrary.org for more information. Join for a summer full of reading and fun!
June is Pride Month! Here are some excellent titles that serve as wonderful mirrors and windows of the LGBTQ+ experience. Click on a book and place a hold to pick up some of these, or others by the same author or on the same subject. Need help placing holds? Email or call the library for assistance.
Join us for a storytime and festival celebration of Pride across the street from Monona Public Library at the Monona Dream Park! We are so excited to celebrate LGBTQ+ youth and families in our community and we invite you, no matter how you identify, to attend.

Our storytime festival will be led by Our Queen Cass Marie Domino, a wonderful and empowering drag performer who inspires children, teens, and adults to be exactly who they are! At our event you'll also find: Miniature Horses from Trident Farm, Dancing, Games, Chalk Art, Crafts!

We encourage families attending our event as allies to begin talking with their children regarding personal pronouns, orientation, gender, and identity. Here is a great resource guide for parents and caregivers to utilize!

Come as you are, or dress for the occasion in your brightest colors! Adults must be accompanied by at least one child that is 17 or under. Drop-in event--registration not required! Masks recommended.
