Greetings!

Thank you for your Gold Club support for the Texas Mission Trip this past week.

We met Johnny (second from left in the above picture) who took it upon himself to help rebuild his community after Hurricane Harvey two and a half years ago. What a joy it was to help rebuild greenhouses in an area known as "Little Cambodia" where we not only experienced great community and awesome fruitfulness in work, but also amazing hospitality from Johnny, Ruby and other neighbors. A small team from our group headed there each day of the week.
We also had the opportunity to serve a few days in a nature preserve near Freeport, TX. This land has just been acquired and will be turned into a public recreation area. We spent time tearing down an old fence and working on a hiking trail.
A third of our team helped in various projects around the town of Surfside Beach, TX. Over the course of the week, we painted trash cans on the beach, helped at City Hall, the Fire House and various other projects.
Our family was excited to be included in the work and mission projects each day. We switched teams throughout the week and experienced all three sites and worked with most of the students. They were full and fruitful days - beginning with breakfast at 7:15 and concluding with worship each evening. It was a delight to lead the worship team for the week - students from Marquette University in Wisconsin. Ruby also joined us a few of the nights.

Much like summer camp when you're with people hours on end, living in the same house, you have incredible opportunity for community, conversation and impact. It was cool to be a part of it. We praise the Lord for the many hours of prayer, meals, devotions and fun.

As I mentioned in our initial Gold Club letter, I felt led to serve on this trip with Ken Rheingans. Ken has a job in computers, but also feels a call to serve in helping young adults live out, experience and discern how they can live for Jesus. It's a crucial and formative time in the lives of college students and since Ken's job allows him to work remotely, he is able to plan about eight weeks of trips and experiences a year.

Unfortunately, he and his team had to cancel the second two mission weeks due to the coronavirus, but I'm thankful we had a chance to participate in leadership for the first week.

It was an awesome opportunity to not only partner in ministry with the Epworth League, but also a great opportunity to scout out what these mission trips are like and how we might take a group of college students next spring! We will keep you posted about that.

I also am personally grateful for the support of the Gold Club who invested to help cover the expenses that allowed me to serve as a worship leader during the week (even without a budget from the mission organization to pay us) and plant seeds for future ministry. We also gave a donation of $500 toward Ken and the mission.

We couldn't do it without you! All glory to God!

In Him,

Tim Price
