From Pastor Aaron
Thursday, architects from Jackson-Galloway will begin the process of analyzing our present facility, our present needs, our growth as a church, our growth as a community and then projecting our future facility needs.
We are thankful for the opportunity we have to bring life-changing hope to an ever changing people through the unchanging gospel! The Lord is using you to reach your neighbors and the nations with the good news of Jesus of Christ.
As the Lord is using us in the lives of others, we're growing. We lost an hour of valuable sleep on Sunday; our children's attendance was down. And yet, we had 274 people worshiping the Lord together in our 10:45am service.
When I arrived over seven years ago and was given an opportunity to preach, I opened God's word to Judges 2 where we read in verse 10:
And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.
That morning in 2011 we asked the question together, "What would it take for us to leave a legacy of faithfulness at Hays Hills? What would it take for us to successfully pass the faith from one generation to the next?"
I want to tell you now, seven years later, how proud I am to be a part of Hays Hills. I have seen the fruit of the Spirit in your lives. I have seen within you a deep desire to leave a legacy of faithfulness for generations to come. I have seen within you the courage to embrace change and to sacrifice so that our Savior and His salvation might proclaimed on this hill until the Lord returns. I have seen within you a heart that is eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace.
I don't know what all the future holds. But I do know this: if we hold onto our Savior, if we hold onto our mission, and if we hold onto one another -committed to reach the finish line together - we will grow more like Jesus, God will be glorified, and our neighbors and the nations will hear the good news.
