NEW MORNING CIRCLE SCHEDULE: MONDAYS, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAYS
Starting NEXT WEEK, Morning Circle will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.*

To ensure our students arrive at school everyday on time (7:50am sharp!) and to preserve critical instructional minutes, the teachers and I have decided to hold Morning Circle 3 days a week.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, please continue to drop off students at Morning Circle spots (weather permitting) where teachers will collect them promptly at 7:50 am.
 
*exception: when there is a week with a Monday Holiday, we'll hold Morning Circle on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS WEEK: EARLY RELEASE, FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE, AUCTION
IMPORTANT DATES TO KEEP TRACK OF THIS WEEK:
  • TOMORROW, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28 IS EARLY RELEASE - The school day will finish at 11:20am. After school programs will begin immediately after dismissal.
  • FRIDAY, MARCH 1 IS FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE - Grab a cup of coffee at 8am just outside the cafeteria and join informal conversations with other parents and Principal Ingber.
  • FRIDAY, MARCH 1 IS THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS FOR THE PTA BOARD - To learn more about the PTA Board and to submit nominations, go HERE.

MESSAGE FROM THE YMCA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Dear Miraloma Families,

Thank you for your patience and support - and sincere apologies for our recent hibernation - as we've been quietly restructuring and improving the YMCA program for our Miraloma students.

This week, we are excited to announce that our team is growing to better support our youth and staff.  We are hiring for five positions: Site Coordinator, Behavior Support, Two Program Leaders, and a Program Aid. We are in the final stages of hiring the Site Coordinator, but we are still accepting applications for the other positions - we are interested in candidates who can lead sport and athletic activities. We value and welcome your input, please share any candidate recommendations you may have with us.

  • Just swipe your credit card at check-in. Invoices/receipts will be emailed the next day.
  • Won items are to be picked up at the main office on Thursday 3/7 & Friday 3/8.
  • Golden and Silver Paddles Raffle! This year you have a chance to win a Golden Paddle that gives you $2000 credit or a Silver Paddle that give you $1000 credit to spend in the Live Auction! (any unused funds will go to Fund-A-Need).
FLOWERS AT THE AUCTION
  • This year's floral designs will once again be provided by Miraloma's own, Chan Welch. 
  • If you would like to take one of these beauties home for $50, there will be a bid sheet at the check-in table. Just pick-up your arrangement on the way out!

Teacher, Class Size Reduction Teacher, Two Literacy Specialists, Healthy Snack Program, Recess Coordinators, Field Trips, Professional Development for Teachers, or our chickens? 

These are some of the things that make our school so incredibly special. Come to the Auction and raise your paddle in support of our wonderful enrichment programs. We need your help to raise $65,000 to keep them going!

MONDAY, MARCH 11: JOINT SSC and PTA MEETING
Join the SSC and the PTA Board at their annual joint community meeting to review the results of the Miraloma Family Survey. The meeting will take place in the Library on Monday, March 11th from 5:30-7:00pm.
