Popsicle Stick Bridge, THIS SUNDAY March 17th
|
|
|
POPSICLE STICK BRIDGE, fondly referred to as PSB, will be held at the
Museum of Flight
on the morning of Sunday March 17th. This is one of the YMF's largest events, and our largest K-12 outreach event all year. Plus all volunteers get access to the museum's exhibits.
The YMF is looking for volunteers to help plan the event as well as for the day of event.

Younger Members go to Hawaii
|
|
|
Earlier this month about half of the Younger Member board of the Seattle ASCE Chapter went to the ASCE Western Regional Younger Member Council (WRYMC).
They had a great time meeting other young engineers from the across the country, sharing ideas, and gaining valuable insight. If you're interested in going to next year's WRYMC, consider getting involved with the YMF!

Saturday March 16th

Join YMF and the Beacon Food Forest to celebrate the approach of Spring with some outdoor garden work! We will meet at the Beacon Food Forest (at the gathering plaza at the top of the hill near S Dakota St) to help at one of their monthly work parties on Saturday, March 16 from 10am - 1pm.
As we will work on maintaining and expanding their public veggie garden and edible landscape as well as soil building and construction of walls. Please dress accordingly (closed-toed shoes, clothes to get dirty in, and rain jacket in case of rain!). Feel free to bring a change of clothes for food/drinks afterwards!

Please join the Seattle ASCE YMF for the March Tech Talk at Osborn Consulting Inc. Janina Glovatchi and Maria Peraki are employed by Osborn Consulting Inc., and will be co-presenters providing insight into the various areas of expertise in Water Resources Engineering. Janina has 7 years of experience providing stormwater design solutions for transportation projects and Maria recently completed her PhD in applications of electrokinetics in subsurface energy extraction, and is ready to jump into the consulting world!
Light refreshers and drinks will be provided by Osborn. Free parking is available within the building premises. The office is also accessible by bus and is a 15-minute walk from the Bellevue Transit Center.
