APRIL 2020
Ozarks Kat and K9 is a small but mighty NO KILL shelter located in the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks for over 30 years
***IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION***
In an effort to slow COVID-19 transmission and keep the people and animals of Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter healthy and safe, we have made the decision to close both our shelter and thrift store to the public until further notice. The animals in our facility continue to receive loving care on a daily basis.

Thrift store donations are being not accepted at this time. Any animal intakes will be limited to emergencies only. All adoptions and business will be handled by appointment only. If you need to reach us, please call 573-374-2629 and leave a message or email staff3@earthlink.net and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
OKK9 IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!
Effective March 6, we welcomed Angi Uber as our new Shelter Manager. If you are familiar with OKK9 at all, then Angi's should be a face you recognize. She has been a dedicated worker at the shelter since 2006 in all capacities. We value her experience and unending compassion for the animals and anticipate great things will result from her leadership in our mission. She has already hit the ground running, guiding us competently through the uncertainty of this coronavirus chaos.
CONGRATULATIONS, ANGI!
If you wish to help support OKK9 at this time in a "social distancing" approved manner, monetary contributions can be made using the DONATE button on our Facebook page.
Our animals thank you!
IN MEMORY OF MAX MASTIFF
It is with sadness in our hearts that we give this update. Our sweet mastiff, Max, crossed the rainbow bridge on the evening of March 26. Though his body was frail and weak, his ability to love was strong to the very end. Everyone who met him was touched by his affectionate and tender manner. We would like to thank Dr. Cobb, Dr. Tichy and the entire staff of Laurie Animal Hospital in Laurie, MO for giving Max the best care possible and working diligently to try and bring him through his health issues. We would also like to thank each and every community member who generously donated to his care.
REST IN PEACE, SWEET BOY

MURPHY'S CLINIC NEWS

We are looking forward to the return of Dr. Melanie McHenry later this month from her maternity leave. Medical equipment is being installed and prepared and clinic support staff will be hired so that Murphy's will be fully operational again soon. In the meantime, low cost spays/neuters continue through our partners at Lake Dog and Cat Veterinary Hospital in Laurie, MO. If you need an appointment, leave a message at 573-552-7743 and someone will call you back to get your information.
THRIFT STORE NEWS

Even though our thrift store is currently closed, there is still a whirlwind of activity going on under the roof. A massive spring cleaning is underway, thanks to our dedicated team of staff members and volunteers. Much needed new front doors are set to be installed soon. The annual "changing of the seasons" will be taking place as well, so that once the store reopens you will be able to come shop a new assortment of clothing and goodies for your warm weather fun.
A HUGE THANK YOU
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to R Veterinary at the Lake (DBA Lake of the Ozarks Animal Hospital) in Linn Creek, MO for getting 14 of our animals spayed or neutered and ready for adoption in March. We truly appreciate their dedication to Lake area pets!

*COMMUNITY BARKS AND MEOWS*
A huge shout out to Atlas Drywall and Painting in Sunrise Beach, MO for donating supplies and labor for some fresh paint inside the shelter building manager's office. They did a fabulous job! Call 573-374-8016 and see what they can do for you!
