Facemasks and Pinnies: A Project for a Rainy (or Pandemic) Day
Help us prepare to re-open the Saint James Day School! When the time comes, opening schools such as ours will be essential to the first stage of the re-opening of the economy as we allow parents to return to their jobs. And since we all need ways to help out as we shelter in place to
weather
this pandemic…
We want some folks to start sewing!
In order to comply with CDC Guidelines, our Day School workers will need new protective gear to insure the safety of the children and their own personal safety. Think of the blessing to our teachers and children, colorful protective equipment lovingly sewed and prayed over by members of our congregation!
If you have a pile of material around to use, please do. If you need material, please
contact
Cyndee Cave and she will help you get some. ccave@saint-james.org
Specifically, we need at least 300 PINNIES, or pinafores.
We also need dozens of FACEMASKS. The government CDC
website
has sewing instructions for the facemarks.
If this project stirs your heart, (and since Cyndee has plenty on her plate) please
email
ME,
lweld@saint-james.org
,
for the pinafore pattern and the facemask instructions from the CDC.
You may deliver your finished goods to the church office, or we will come pick them up from your house,
It almost makes me wish I could sew (but not quite)! Such a simply way to serve our Lord and the least of these, during these strange times.
Blessings,
Louise Weld
