City's COVID-19 Resources plus Top Q&A
Thank you for your patience as the Governor works to ensure our safety while reengaging the community with guidance from healthcare professionals. As the Stay Home order continues, we want to be sure you know the City continues to provide resources to help you stay informed on the latest COVID-19 developments, executive orders and health guidelines. We're still here for you, and citizens are encouraged to take advantage of the following City resources:

COVID-19 Webpage
Visit the City’s COVID-19 webpage at www.bhamgov.org/virusprevention for a plethora of information from trusted resources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Michigan, the Oakland County Health Division and more. City officials are working to gather as much information as possible to assist the community in fighting and responding to the COVID-19 virus. The site also lists community resources for parents and seniors, crisis hotlines, places of worship offering support services and more.

Citywide Email System
During the ‘Stay Home Stay Safe’ order it is even more important to remain connected to our community. Birmingham residents are strongly encouraged to sign-up for the citywide email system at www.bhamgov.org/citywideemail . Subscribers receive weekly messages from the Mayor with the latest updates pertaining to COVID-19. The email service allows the City to target specific neighborhoods for messaging and keep everyone updated on what’s happening in this rapidly changing environment.

COVID-19 Hotline
Residents may use the City's COVID-19 hotline for information about City and County COVID-19 resources by calling 248-530-1805 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. To assist the elderly, quarantined and immunocompromised individuals, the hotline can be used for services such as bringing refuse containers to and from the curb, welfare checks or delivery of batteries, first-aid items, diapers, formula, etc. Here are common COVID-19 hotline questions and answers :

Are Birmingham's Golf Courses open?
Yes! Lincoln Hills Golf Course and Springdale Golf Course are open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily with a ‘Park & Play’ model. Tee times are required. Learn more at www.golfbirmingham.org .

Are Birmingham tennis courts open?
Yes! Tennis courts are now open. Birmingham basketball courts remain closed. Playgrounds also remain closed, per the Oakland County Health Order .

Is the Lincoln Hills Dog Park open?
We're pleased to announce the Lincoln Hills Dog Park will open tomorrow, Friday, May 29th. There is a 10 person maximum in the park, and a two dog maximum per dog owner. All dogs must be wearing tags and all owners must abide by dog park rules and City of Birmingham ordinances. I've heard the Birmingham Shopping District is recognizing hometown heroes with photos displayed along Maple Road this summer. How can I nominate someone?
The Birmingham Shopping District (BSD) is proud of the way Birmingham residents and workers have stepped up in these unprecedented times. We would like to recognize those who have made a difference in your life or the lives of those around them during the COVID-19 pandemic. This might be a nurse, doctor, first responder, teacher or neighbor who has become a community cheerleader. Please nominate your hero by completing the  Birmingham Hometown Hero form  today. The BSD will notify heroes who are selected. Heroes’ photos will be displayed along Maple Road this summer. All nominees must either live or work in Birmingham.

Are Birmingham restaurants open?
Many are open for take out only. Several restaurants have tables set up outside for patrons.

Are Birmingham retailers open?
Per the Gove rnor's recent executive order, retailers may open by appointment only. Find contact information at www.AllinBirmingham.com/shop .

Are Birmingham Police Officers still parading by homes for birthdays?
Birmingham Police Officers continue to bring birthday cheer to the kids in our neighborhoods during the stay-at-home order! If you’d like police cars to parade by your home on your child’s birthday, please call (248) 530-1870 and schedule a day and time with our dispatch center! For Birmingham residents only.  🚔🎉
Can the City move my trash cans to and from the curb ?

Where can I find information about services for seniors?
Next Senior Center offers services for seniors such as medical equipment loans, well-check phone calls, SMART bus transportation to high priority destinations, Meals on Wheels, etc. You do not have to be a member of Next to receive these services. Contact Next at (248) 203-5270.
