In and around the classrooms
After reading about the make believe town of Roxaboxen, kindergarten students designed houses or forts they would build in the imaginary town. They brought their
designs
to life with marshmallows and toothpicks.
In their
skeletal system
unit, the 7th grade science class studied preserved deer bones and dissected chicken wings.
Reading Performance
The
kindergarten
, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classes had show and snack when 4th grade English students performed Reader Theater sketches for their classes. The 4th graders practiced reading with fluency and expression
as they delivered each line.
Pie for Pi day
On 3/14, the 6th grade math class celebrated the irrational number pi with a delicious treat of pie!
What's Left Over?
Using
stack-able
blocks, 2nd graders learn division with remainders. Students make equal stacks of the number they are dividing by and then
are able to see the number left over, which gives a
visual
to the concept of remainders.
