Dear North Side Community School Friends,

I am so pleased to be back at North Side. The start of a new school year is an exciting time. Students are looking forward to starting a new class, seeing their friends every day and engaging in extracurricular activities. This school year may not have started with these feelings, but our number one priority remains the same - to provide our students with high quality education.

Our children and families need our support now more than ever. In order to make the transition to distance-learning as easy as possible, we have provided students with school supplies, hot spots and chrome books. We provide weekly professional development to our teachers to effectively deliver curriculums virtually. We also continue to provide breakfast and lunch daily, not just to North Side students, but to the entire community.

Amidst all of this, I am excited to announce that North Side will have its first ever graduating 8th grade class in May 2021. The school has grown from serving 51 students in 2009 to over 500 today.

Sincerely,
John Grote
Executive Director
COVID-19 Response & Thank You
We are so grateful to be part of such a generous community that has supported North Side families during these challenging times.

Thanks to Centene Charitable, we received masks for each child. The Regional Business Council and a private foundation provided funds to purchase Chrome Books and hot spots for each child. Reusable water bottles and books for each child were donated by UMSL and Hired Ink. Several individuals donated school supplies for our Bookbag Jamboree in August.

Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to the children served by North Side.
Take a look at how our third graders created virtual versions of themselves this school year.
2020-2021 School Year
On August 24,2020 we started the school year through virtual learning for all grades.
This month we are launching hybrid learning for all grades. Families who choose to continue virtual learning will have the option to do so.

Although we are not all together in person, North Side is committed to high quality education. As always, our social workers and teachers are working hard to meet the individual needs of each student.
