Though there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus, known as COVID-19 in Long Beach, the City has declared a local health emergency due to the potential spread of the Coronavirus. See here:

As concerns are on the rise, we are seeing the impacts of the fear and uncertainty on our economy. The impact is mainly seen in the tourism, hospitality, and supply chain sectors. For example, this past week, the Journal of Commerce canceled the Trans-Pacific Merchants 2020 conference at the Long Beach Convention Center due to concerns of the coronavirus.
To be clear, there is no evidence of widespread transmission of the Coronavirus in the United States at this time. However, exposure may be elevated for some workers who interact with potentially infected travelers from abroad. For this reason, businesses need to prepare for the impacts of the Coronavirus in the United States.
