This Coming Sunday - March 17th, 2019
|
|
Dear FUMC family,
This Sunday I will be preaching on Luke 13:31-35 and Psalm 27. In our Gospel reading, the Pharisees came to Jesus and told him that “Herod wants to kill you.” Jesus Christ did not yield to fear. The Psalmist asked, “The Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear? Our Lord recognized that being faithful is more important than fear, and he lamented over Jerusalem saying, “…how often I have desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing.” This sermon will focus on fear, courage, and faithfulness. I hope that you will join us.
In Christ,
John

Questions to ponder:
1.
Who do you fear?
2.
What is more important that our fear?
3.
How can we show courage in the face of fears today?

Where Do We Go From Here?
|
|
The 9:00 A.M. First on Wrenn contemporary worship service has been a part of our church for nearly 15 years. Over that time, the service has grown from a small group of people meeting in the Fellowship Hall to residing in a recently renovated and expanded home in the Allred Center. The larger space has allowed us to accommodate significant growth over these years. Now, we, want to expand the service to a higher level and would like everyone’s input.
·
What works well and what doesn’t?
·
What would you like to see in the service?
·
How do we reach and attract more individuals and families in the greater High Point area?
Come and offer you ideas and suggestions next Wednesday night, March 20th, at 6:30 PM. All church members are welcome to attend.
|
|
All seniors are invited to a covered dish brunch on Friday, March 22, at 11:30am in the Fellowship Hall to determine interest in revitalizing Gadabouts. Be thinking about day or overnight trips of interest, if any, programs for our brunches, and a new name if appropriate.

UMYF needs your help (and your food!). We eat together each Sunday night to begin our time together. You would typically feed about 25 people. If you can help out, please plan to eat with us and stay for youth group if your schedule allows. You can of course drop the food and go if you need to. The food can be something you make or something you pick up. We are not picky, only grateful! If you can help out please call DP or Sandy Franks or click below!

The Youth/ASP Yard Sale has been scheduled for

Attention all FUMC family...it is time again to start filling in our volunteer calendar for our Good News and Daddy at the Desk workers. Good News is a time during each worship service that the children ages 3 - 2nd grade are allowed to slip away for some kid friendly worship. It only takes about 30 minutes of your time and lessons are provided. Our Daddies at the Desk provide security for our nursery during the 10:55 service, these special guys (or gals) man the front door and monitor the Education Building. We REALLY need your help with both of these jobs during 2019. Sign up for available times by clicking the buttons below. If you have any questions or want to talk more about it please contact Kim Myers. 336-889-3103
FUMC's commitment to our kids makes us stand out among the rest!
