MARCH 2019
Luck is a concept that abounds in the world of animal welfare. We talk of pets who are lucky to be rescued in time; of people who are lucky to adopt such a great dog or cat; of being lucky to do this work for a living. But if it's true that luck is what happens when skill and opportunity come together, then our core value of Collaboration lends us a big hand toward making our own luck.

It's the connections between friends, colleagues, peers, businesses and local agencies that create the opportunities which benefit the people and animals we serve. Luck is a municipal shelter worker who calls to see whether we can take in a mama cat with her babies. It's the volunteer who welcomes a neighbor into her home to meet the foster puppies. Luck is the parent of a Critter Camper who inquires about Canine Comfort visits to their workplace.

Thank you so much for caring, sharing, giving, spreading the word, and working with us! We feel lucky to know you.
A Home for Sissy
Sissy's good Samaritan did everything right by the abandoned cat, but when her own senior felines rejected Sissy, she reached out to Valley Humane Society for help. Our Home to Home service helped Sissy find a wonderful forever guardian, and--because she was adopted directly from her current guardian's home--kept her from ever seeing the inside of a shelter. Home to Home is the resource caring guardians need to find a better, more desirable home situation for their pet. Check it out today and see who's waiting for you!
