Foundations offer free community college course for all NH high school grads
As New Hampshire’s high school Class of 2021 prepares for graduation, two philanthropic foundations are offering every member of that class an early graduation gift: a free community college course at any of New Hampshire’s seven community colleges in the fall.
First group of LRCC students complete newly launched Mercury Outboard Certificate
Just days after earning his degree in marine engine technology at Lakes Region Community College, Mehan Angle started his new job as a marine engine technician at Squam Boat Livery in Holderness. Angle was part of a class graduating with skills in high demand in the local economy, and the timing was perfect as LRCC had just added a Mercury Outboard certification to its program, bringing even greater marketability to its graduates.

The Community College System of NH, in a partnership led by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation recently announced that high school students graduating in 2021 will be offered a tuition-free class at any of NH’s community colleges this fall. This “Gift to the Class of 2021” is a celebration of the resiliency of a class that has had to overcome challenges unique to our time.
A Certificate in Industrial Mechanics at WMCC was Sawyer’s next step in his career path
Born and raised in the North Country of New Hampshire in the small City of Berlin, Sawyer Sanschagrin wanted a career that would enable him to see the larger world around him and experience and learn new things. After hearing how hands-on the industrial mechanics program at White Mountains Community College (WMCC) was, he knew it was the next step he wanted to take in his career path.
