  • Schedule a CAP conference appointment! 
    You can now schedule a CAP conference appointment using the link below. Parent/guardian participation at these conferences is a vital part of the CAP process. Make sure to sign up for your appointment by March 26.

  • There will be no school the week of Spring Break, March 18-22.
  • Congratulations to the Woodland Track Teams! Our 7th and 8th grade girls won at the Bentonville Track Meet earlier this week. Romani Thurman and Hannah Estes broke school records and tied for high point. Eighth grade boys took 2nd place, and 7th grade took 3rd!
  • Fayetteville Youth Baseball registration is open for the upcoming baseball season. Players can register or find more information online at FYBaseball.com.
  • FPS is sponsoring a Maker Contest for the Joe Martin Stage Race. Students in grades 5-8 can design and/or create bicycle accessories, and all applicants may access the NWA FabLab for FREE each Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00 p.m. to work on their entries. Applications are due March 15, and entries are due by 5:00 p.m., April 1. Visit https://bit.ly/beaFPSmaker for more info and an application.
  • FHS Golf tryouts will be held April 23-26, 2019 at Fayetteville Country Club. Tryouts are open to any athlete entering grades 9-12. Sign up by using the link provided: FHS Golf Tryouts 2019. You must sign up and attend a mandatory tryout meeting that will held April 15 at 6 p.m. in the FHS Lecture Hall (Phase II).   • Our annual Cowboy Celebration is fast approaching! It will be Fri., May 10, and we need all hands on deck. In order to pull off this huge day, PTO will need your help. Please email Kelly Edmiaston at kedmiaston@att.net to see how you can help make the most memorable Cowboy Celebration to date!
Congrats to our Bike Winner!
Congratulations to Kennedy Howell for being chosen as winner of the National School Breakfast bike giveaway! Breakfast is an important part of the school day for good health and concentration, and we are proud to serve healthy breakfast each school day. Thank you to all the students who ate school breakfast last week for a chance to win a bike thanks to our partnership with General Mills.
Wheel Mobile Visits Woodland

The Wheel Mobile from the Community Creative Center made a stop at Woodland! This pottery studio on wheels supports arts education curriculum and enhances classroom learning. It is equipped with nine potter's wheels, art supplies and clean-up facilities developed to offer potter's wheel classes and art workshops for adults and students of all ages.



The  Wheel Mobile visit was made possible by a grant from the Happy Hollow Foundation, along with contributions from Community Creative Center, and Woodland Junior High School.

4th Annual Science Fair
Congratulations to our Fourth Annual Woodland Science Fair Winners! The over winners are Brooklyn Williamson in first place, Lauren Adams and Tianxin Li in second place, and Abby Lissau in third place. 

Blue Crew Accepting Applications

Do you have a current 7th grader? Would they like to be a part of a leadership team made up of students who want to take on projects to serve Woodland and have their voices heard? If so, then they should consider applying for Blue Crew. 

Applications are available in the front office and are due back no later than Tues., March 26. They will also need to submit two teacher recommendations. Please note that students who are in AVID, Student Council, or Yearbook are not eligible to apple.
2019-20 Sports Tryout Info

Below is a link for the 2019 FPS sports tryout dates and requirements for next school year's 2019-20 teams. Please note that ALL students participating in a tryout will need a current physical.

Feb. 6:    FHS Parent Info Night from 5:30-6:30 
               -rising 9th graders in the PAC
               -rising 9th-12th ELL session in the Blackbox
Feb. 7:    Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)
Feb. 27:  CAP conferences for 9th-12th grades, FHS Commons from 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Current 7th Grade Parents: Tues., Jan. 29 your student brought home a Career Action Planning (CAP) information letter that explains the CAP process, the vital part parents/guardians play in the process, and how to schedule a CAP conference.

Free Tutoring Options

We have several free tutoring options available. Students can participate in free tutoring sessions Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and transportation home is provided if needed.

We also offer tutoring sessions Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
As always, drinks and snacks will be provided at every session.
