Meet the team: Joe Buckner
Joe Buckner joined the AutonomouStuff team four years ago and currently serves as our Director of Engineering, focusing on by-wire and autonomous systems. From an early age, he was drawn to engineering. He worked part time in high school repairing circuit boards, maintained various engineering-related jobs in college and even dabbled in self-employment with a couple side ventures. After obtaining a Bachelor in Science in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University, Joe joined Caterpillar's Autonomous Mining team where he played a key role in bringing the world's largest autonomous mine site to life.

"I came onboard back in 2017 when there were around 30 people in the company," he said. "It's been awesome watching the team grow and the company evolve over time. I love working as a part of a dynamic team that has an amazing culture delivering autonomous technology that enables the world be a safer, more sustainable place to live. I get the chance every day to work on technology that makes a difference in the world as a part of a team that is always challenging the 'status quo.' What more can an engineer ask for?"

It has been awesome to see how Joe has grown and evolved with the team. We can't wait to see what comes next!
