A delicious child-friendly choice is available for the Paella Dinner. Chicken and rice with a side of vegetables. There will also be a supervised game room for grades 4 and up. Dessert will be a project of dipping churros and fruit in warm chocolate.
The Religious Exploration Steering Committee. The Religious Exploration Committee has reorganized into more of the visioning, mission, oversight, and policy kind of team. Along with a new name, we expect that it will meet only 3-5 times per year and have less between meeting tasks to do. We are accepting nominations to this revitalized, forward-looking, essential committee.

In celebration of Women's History Month, we're highlighting Unitarian women who were agents of change. Margaret Fuller is one of the guiding lights of the first wave of feminism--a feminist before the word feminist and a leader who transformed Unitarian beliefs. A woman who had the courage to make a difference in the world, Fuller lived by her beliefs: "If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it!" Author, editor, journalist, literary critic, educator, transcendentalist, and women's rights advocate, she helped educate the women of her day by leading a series of conversations in which women were empowered to read, think and discuss important issues of the day. Her landmark book Woman in the Nineteenth Century, a book about equality for women, was a best seller in 1845.
Among her accomplishments: first editor of The Dial, the foremost Transcendentalist journal; first woman to enter Harvard Library to pursue research; first woman journalist on Horace Greeley's New York DailyTribune; and first woman foreign correspondent and war correspondent to serve under combat conditions. Her move to write investigative journalism marked a political turn in the Transcendentalist movement and connected it to what we now think of as progressive, rights-based social justice. She said, "Very early, I knew that the only object in life was to grow."

Remarkable People for March
Friday, March 15, 7-9 pm Fireside Room Kristina Gale and Ray Meluch are our Remarkable People for March.
This ongoing series gives us time to learn about each other from the interesting stories of individual lives. Whether you already know them by name or not, you will learn what you don't know in the evening of sharing and community. Each person talks and there is time for questions and general sociability.
You might knowKristina Gale as a Dinners for 8 hostess or a greeter, but not that she started a long-time career before she learned to drive. You will also learn more about being half-Ingrian, half-Finnish and growing up 10 miles from the border of the Soviet Union.
Ray Meluch is our hip and scientific "sound man" and does magic with our microphones when needed. But there is more to know in his history, including an Oscar.....
Come to the Fireside Room for a Friday evening of sharing, and learning more about our common interests and intriguing differences in life experience.
All are welcome and there will be sustaining snacks too.

Film - "Seared Souls: SC Voices of the Holocaust"
"Seared Souls: SC Voices of the Holocaust," Board member Rich Panter's powerful 90-minute documentary will be shown by the Adult Ed. Committee on
Sunday, March 24th in the Fireside Room from 12:15 - 2 pm. The film traces the experiences of sixteen survivors and five liberators, neither minimizing the horror, nor relying on graphic archival images, it contains clips from the feature films "Schindler's List"
and
"The Wannsee Conference."
Narrated by NPR's Brooke Gladstone, and winner of six national awards, including a CINE Gold Eagle and an Emmy nomination, Rich made it in the l990s when he was a producer/director at South Carolina Public TV and will discuss it after the screening.

Consider what workshop you may like to offer the congregation at this year's retreat. Here is an
example schedule from last year.
The Retreat is an all-congregational event running from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning at Walker Creek Ranch in West Marin. We offer a flexible attendance/pricing plan to ensure that everyone can attend as their time and budget allows. You can stay in a semi-private lodge or family style dormitory with separate bedrooms for each family and bathrooms down the hall. Meals include Friday night dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and Sunday breakfast. We have a campfire on Friday night, a Barn Dance on Saturday night, worship services, discussion groups, hiking opportunities, a ropes course, arts and crafts, and many more fun activities for young and old. This is a chance to connect with those in your community at a deeper level and enjoy the fresh air and lovely grounds of Walker Creek Ranch. We are taking reservations now. General Assembly is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association. Attendees worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic process. Anyone may attend; congregations must certify annually to send voting delegates.
The 2019 General Assembly will be June 19-23 in Spokane, Washington. Most General Assembly events will be held in the Spokane Convention Center.

The problem of the overcrowded parking lot was discussed at our past Congregational Meeting. Here is an idea:
Members and friends who live in Terra Linda, Novato, and further north must drive right past the Smith Ranch Road P&R lot. We could keep in mind that on days when we are not in a rush we could stop there and share cars. At about 10:20 am we could proceed to the Congregation's parking lot. There would be no need for prior arrangements.
For return to our car at P&R, there is no problem, since people leave at all hours. Just go out to see who is leaving and hitch a ride.
