Join SAC Entertainment on Thursday, November 8 at 9 p.m. for a night of Cookies and Karaoke ! We will have a variety of cookies galore with some great music from your peers! The Karaoke night will be held in Marty's immediately following the Jazz Band Concert. The event is free to everyone, so don't hesitate to come show your singing skills with your friends! Sign-ups will be at the event!

Seeking to foster a climate of dialogue and support , Luther will present the panel Here's My Story: Experiences with Mental Healt h at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, in Valders 206. Panelists Professor Emeritus Paul Gardner, Associate Professor of Nursing Jayme Nelson and student Madeleine Ross '20, will share stories of their own journeys involving mental health. Sponsored by Counseling Services, Active Minds, and CEPE.

Jimmy Hoke , visiting assistant professor of religion takes a look at Paul's letters as he discusses queerness in the Roman world of the first century C.E. in his Paideia Text and Issues lecture on November 6. Hoke's lecture will take place at 7 p.m. at the Center for Faith and Life, Recital Hall reception following in Qualley Lounge.

Discussing the connection between personal and social transformation, David Loy, professor, writer and teacher of Japanese Sanbo Zen Buddhism, will present his lecture "Transforming Self, Transforming World: Buddhism and Social Justice" at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 8 in Valders Hall of Science, Room 206. The lecture is sponsored by the Luther College Religion Department.

All I Really Need to Know I Learned from Baseball , draws connections between America's favorite pastime and morality and culture. Luther College Professor Emeritus John Moeller will present a lecture at 3 p.m. Thursday, November 8, in the Mott Room of the Dahl Centennial Union.

TEDxLutherCollege is looking for speakers — All members of the Luther college community with great ideas are encouraged to apply  here . Applications will be open until November 9.

How do people of different races interact? What does that say about human social and cultural constructs? Luther College Professor of Dance Jane Hawley attempts to investigate those questions and dive into the human condition through an embodied dialogue performance, "Issues of Color: It's More than Black and White." Friday, November 2, 7 p.m. in the Center for the Arts, Studio 1.

Luther College Associate Professor of Art Ben Moore presents his art show "Lie To Me" from November 5 to January 24 at the Wigley Fleming Art Gallery, Center for the Arts. Moore’s current work explores the sublime. His goal is to art depicting a place so supernatural that it transports the viewer away from Earth while their feet never leave the ground.

Children of all ages are invited to the Future Music Educators Association's second annual Family Concert. The concert is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3, in the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Orchestra Room.
