25th Anniversary Celebration and Auction!

We are getting excited for Peabody's 25th Anniversary Celebration and wanted to share just a few of our auction items, including:

  • A set of 4 and a set of 2 UVA vs. DUKE Basketball tickets for 2/29 game; UVA Football with President Jim Ryan in his Suite, and Nationals Baseball tickets with access to Delta Sky360 Club;
  • Vacation Getaways to Cape May, Block Island, Ocracoke and Hilton Head to name a few;
  • Reserved Seating for 8th Grade Graduation; and
  • Head of School for a Day!

This year we are also introducing a "Giving Tree". Peabody teachers and staff have submitted items they would like to have for their students and classrooms, with price points starting at $25. Each item will be printed on a leaf- pick a leaf, sign to underwrite that item, and hang the leaf on the tree! Watch the tree fill with leaves through the night as we join together to support our faculty, and in turn our children.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Heather Amato or Whitney Lyman .

Spelling Bee

Can you spell " haughty" or " divan?" Five school finalists competed this past Wednesday in our annual Peabody Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Ronak Ailawadi for winning this year's bee! Our four other finalists were Sienna Robinson, Jayden Vaughan, Felicity Craig, and Riley Gray. Also, congratulations to Rose Brennan-Wilkinson who won her classroom competition but could not compete Wednesday due to illness. Ronak will now compete at the Regional Competition. Good Luck!
Game Night!

The 16th annual Peabody Game Night is right around the corner - and it's shaping up to be our most exciting one yet! This year's Game Night is March 6th from 6:30PM-8:00PM.

It takes a small army of volunteers to make Game Night fun and successful. We want to thank you immensely for your willingness to be a Game Master and to assist with setup and cleanup.  Please consider signing up to help setup and/or cleanup or to run a game table!

If you're signing up to be a Game Master, please select a game from the list (please let us know if you'll need us to provide the game or if you can bring your own) OR choose a slot to Bring Your Own! and add your game's name in the comments.

If you're signing up to help with setup or cleanup, please note that both of these jobs involve heavy lifting and carrying of tables and chairs, so it's not ideal for anyone with back issues or other injuries.

Please contact Shannon Walsh if you have questions or need assistance with the signup. Thank you!
Leap Day is Coming!

Leap Day Fun is coming to Peabody School on 2/28 and everyone will be participating at all grade levels! This is a really busy, really fun day for all of us! Leap Day is dedicated to students focusing on passion projects of their own design in teams or indivually. Our youngest students will work on projects as a class, but everyone else is brainstorming how they want to spend their day. Please talk with your child(ren) and let them share their ideas with you!
Peabody Jump Party!
Please join us for a Peabody School Jump Party! We have the whole place to ourselves on March 8th from 6PM-8PM. There is no school the next day so don't worry about keeping the kids up late! Pizza will be served. 100% of the proceeds will go to support the Peabody 25th Anniversary Ball!

Tickets are only $25. Please register here!!

Peabody Book Swap is coming!

Have your children outgrown books from your home libraries? Please consider donating them to the upcoming book swap that will be paired with Game Night (3/6). We will return to our treasured Bookworm Central book fair next year when we have a fabulous new library, but until then we want to make sure our readers have access to lots of new material!

We are accepting children's books in good condition that are appropriate for our PreK-8 students. Drop them off in the office to the attention of Ms. MaryBeth or Mrs. Funk and thank you for supporting Peabody's voracious readers!
