Leann Hockensmith Snyder 1940 - 2018    

Millersport - Leann Grace Snyder passed away on to Eternity Thursday, September 27th, 2018, at her home in Millersport, Ohio.   She was an inspiration to so many, as she lived her life with dignity, courage and grace, even while dealing with terminal cancer.   Her indomitable spirit will indeed be missed.

Leann was born August 14th, 1940, at Mercy Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1958, where she was the drum major of the marching band.   She worked several years for Anchor Hocking Corporation.   She was in accounting, sales and marketing with Anchor Hocking before starting her own very successful and award winning interior design firm, "Leann Snyder Interiors".

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ira and Grace Brenneman; mother, Mae Sanderson Thomas Hockensmith;  father, Harry "Red" Hockensmith,  and son, Timothy Scott Allan.   Leann is survived by her husband, Garland Snyder;  brother, Gary Hockensmith (Lynda);  sister, Mary Rush;  sons, Michael James Allan (Celina) and Christopher John Allan (Melinda);  grandchildren, Eliza Allan, Delaney Allan, Olivia Allan-Downs (Chris), Clint Shepherd (Brittany), and Stephanie Shepherd-Snedden (Cale); great-grandchildren, Brynn and Cade Snedden, Levi Downs, and Penelope and Gabriell Shepherd.   She is also survived many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Leann Snyder, Sunday, October 7th, 2018, at 3:00 PM, with a gathering and refreshments following the service at the First Presbyterian Church (222 N. Broad St. Lancaster, OH 43130).   Funeral Arrangements are being handled through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME.
