ALERT: COVID-19 Guidelines & Information

With the first Kentucky COVID-19 (also referred to as Coronavirus) patients identified over the weekend, now is a good time to review the available information from our government agencies and the ADA.

As of writing this email, the Commonwealth's Department of Public Health considers the risk of infection to most Kentuckians low, but there are some groups at higher risk. This includes healthcare providers, those who have had contact with infected persons, and those who have recently traveled to communities that are now seeing active outbreaks.

We are also still in flu season, so taking a reasonably cautious approach to contagion is advisable. As with many contagious diseases, the elderly, immunocompromised, and those with severe underlying health conditions are most vulnerable to becoming seriously ill.

Please take a few minutes to review the information available so that you are prepared when your patients and staff have questions.
