Executive-produced by Ken Burns, the film will be screened in Olin 102 on Sunday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. Blending historical narrative with contemporary patient stories, the two-hour film is a timely look at how one institution has met the changing demands of healthcare for 150 years—and what that can teach us about facing the challenges of patient care today. , will speak about his career in public health in Nepal. Dixit established a world class medical research center and serves as an advisor on antimicrobial resistance to the Nepal Ministry of Health and Population. presents their musical Theatre Cabaret "After Dark," as they explore what happens when the sun goes down. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for an 8 p.m. show Saturday, October 20, in the Center for the Arts atrium. SPIN Theatre Company will also be selling "Spooky" treats at their performance.

Luther College
invites the community to their first ever National Eating Disorder Association, Walk event. Money raised at the event funds education about eating disorders, prevention and support, as well as advocacy and research initiatives. Check-in for the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m., with opening ceremony following at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, beginning at the parking lot by the local pool.
Open Mic Night
will take place on Wednesday, October 24 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Marty’s. Luther students will put on a variety of onstage performances, and drawings for door prizes for all in attendance will be done throughout the evening. Through her senior project,
Luther College alumna Maggie (Steinberg) Hagen examined Luther's history during key racialized moments in American history. That research led Hagen to delve further into the archives to understand the tensions she felt in her community during current historical moments. Hagen will lead a discussion on Luther College's history and her experiences on campus during a public forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 25, in the Center for Faith and Life Recital Hall.

who missed Dean Scott's email to the community at the beginning of the semester, this is a reminder that the Diversity Center is now the Center for Intercultural Engagement and Student Success. The correct acronym is CIES. A single "S" is used because student success is one idea/ concept. The Diversity Council is now the Council for Equity and Inclusion. Both were renamed to better reflect their new roles and responsibilities.

November 6, 2018: Dahl Centennial Union, Tuesday, October 23, 9:00 – 3:00. Precincts for which ballots will be available: Precincts 5 and 6 only. This includes Decorah Wards 4, and 5; Decorah Township in Supervisor District 3; and Canoe Township. Voter registration forms will be available for new registrations in the county. Changes in the registration records of people who are currently registered within the county may also be made.
An art exhibit
featuring works made by 15 Luther College art alumni will be on display through November 1 in the Union Gallery of the Dahl Centennial Union. This year's alumni exhibition features works created by artists who have pieces currently in the Luther College Fine Arts Collection and also are celebrating reunions at this year's Homecoming.
