Sports Spotlight
Athletic Town Hall
There is always room for improvement, so I will be hosting the first ever Athletic Town Hall. This will be an open discussion with a specific agenda focused on a few key areas; registration process, participation and commitment, and recreational vs competitive teams. These are all topics that affect the entire program. All opinions are encouraged and welcomed. The goal is to hear from all sides to help develop the overall philosophy for the entire HPS Athletic program. Building consistency is key as we grow and will ensure the best overall experience for all involved.
The Townhall will be hosted in the HPS gym on Tuesday, March 19th @ 7:00. Please consider attending and participating in this event. If you choose not to attend, you forgo all rights to complain next year! = )
Eagle of the Week
This week we recognize our first volleyball player as Eagle of the Week! Kamryn Shaffer comes to every practice ready to work hard, give her best and always has a positive attitude. She asks questions and looks for ways to improve her innate talents. She goes out of her way to cheer on her teammates and reassure them that they are doing a great job. She has a compassionate heart. Her upbeat attitude is contagious. She is a leader on and off the court. Her teacher, Mrs. Casteel said "Kamryn arrives in class each day with a smile on her face and an eagerness to learn and engage...no matter what the topic. She has an extremely kind heart and creates a positive sphere of influence among her peers. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to teach her this year...she is simply delightful!".
That is the perfect example of the ideal student athlete and the reason we created Eagle of the Week. Congrats Kamryn!
If you have a nomination for Eagle of the Week, any questions about registration, the sports we offer, or Blue Sombrero please contact Mike Brugh at HPS.athletics@outlook.com or 513-403-0734.
