Borrowing Basics & Financial Recovery Financial Literacy Sessions at The Glades Initiative
The Glades Initiative presents Money Smart, designed to provide you with information to strengthen your financial literacy. These sessions will focus on options for borrowing money and what it costs, as well as how to financially prepare for, and recover from, disasters. This training is limited to 10 participants and masks are required– gift cards for participants.

Open to All: Food Distribution Every Wednesday at The Glades Initiative
The Glades Initiative offers weekly food distribution to anyone in need. Those coming in cars are asked to line up beside the office for drive-through pick-up on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Both drivers and walkers will receive food bags on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Our staff and volunteers will wear personal protective gear as we handle and distribute the food bags. We ask that drivers and their passengers remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing measures to keep everyone safe.

West Tech is pleased to announce our newest training program - Forklift Operator Safety
Certification. This program is being offered in partnership with the Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. This safety certification is required by law for ALL employees operating a forklift. This certification meets OSHA standards and must be renewed every 3 years.

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

PBSO's Scout Patch Program
PBSO’s Scout Patch Program offers scouts of all ages the opportunity to earn a patch from PBSO’s Scout Patch program. You choose your experience! You may choose to host a professional from PBSO at your site to give a presentation one week and participate in an online presentation another week.

Too Good Curriculum, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office will purchase the Too Good curriculum for any instructor who works for a non-profit organization. The curricula is designed to increase social and emotional skills in a 10-week program. The curricula is taught within 30-50 minutes once a week for 10 weeks per grade level. The training can begin at any age, however, as children are able to grasp the concepts without any prior knowledge.
Also available are After School Activities from the same Too Good model. These activities are ideal for After School organizations or if a quick lesson is needed to fill time. Each engaging lesson can be taught within 30-45 minutes approximately.

If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.
