Dear St. Thomas Families,   
 
As we enter the Lenten season, our students will practice the first week of Lent by being prayerful.  This will include being reverent while in Church, reciting our classroom prayers, being respectfully, praying regularly and praying for each other. 
 
There is an all school mass on Ash Wednesday, March 6 at 8:15am. Please join us!
 
School Stations of the Cross
During the season of Lent, the school will be praying the Stations of the Cross.  All are welcome to pray with us.  Below is the list of additional dates and times:
 March 8 - Grade 4
2:15pm
 March 22 - Grade 6
 2:15pm
 April 5 - Grade 2
 2:15pm
 April 17 - Grade 8
 Living Stations 
 1:00pm  
 (early dismissal at 1:50)
 
2019-2020 Registration
  Don't forget that now is the time to register your child(Ren) to reserve their spot for the 2019-2020 school year.  A completed registration along with your deposit is due in the office by Monday, March 4.   We will continue to use FACTS Management Company to help manage our tuition payment plan.    St. Thomas school's specific payment plan link is the same as last year.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
The following is a list of the various activities and important dates in the month of March.    
 
March 6 - Ash Wednesday an all school mass at 8:15am
March 13 -  Diocese Academic Showcase - Covington Catholic High School, 3:30 Registration
March 15   - This marks the end of the third quarter.
March 15 - No school for teacher Professional Development Day
March 18 - 29 - IOWA Standardized tests will be administered to students in 1st through 7th grades.
March 22 & 23 - This is the date of our annual 8th grade play. Ever wonder how the old west was really won? Well, come to the St. Thomas 8th grade performance of "How the West was Dun"!! Performances will be held at 7:00pm both evenings. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children/students (3 years and younger are free), $15 for a family.
March 20 -  Early dismissal at 1:50pm
March 22  -Third quarter report cards will be available on Sycamore Education parent portal.
Check out the Wednesday folder! The flyers in the folder include the March lunch menu, a form on how to apply for free and reduced price school meals (all information is confidential), Reading Connection and Mother/Son Bowling Tournament.
Safety is important for St. Thomas . Ofc. Rohlfer, Ft. Thomas Police Department was present for the all school lockdown drill. With the tornado season around the corner, we will have a tornado drill on Thursday, February 28, at 8:05am.

The following St. Thomas teams played at the St. Therese Mustang Classic Basketball Tournament and won their championships. The teams are: 3rd grade boys, 6 grade boys, 5th/6th grade girls and 7th/8th grade girls. Go Tomcats!!!

The dates of the Fish Fry are as follows:
 
March 8 - Mother's Club
March 15 - Boosters
March 22 - Boy Scouts
March 29 - 8th Grade

We will need desserts donated

Camp Laffalot Early Registration

Laffalot Summer Camps is running an Early Bird Special for anyone registering thru Feb 28th.  All they need to do is use promo c ode15FORFEB  and they will get an immediate $15 discount.  Pay either online or send a check by the 28th.
 
Lost and Found
Make sure to check out the Lost and Found. We have a box and rack that is over flowing with clothing.  Many articles of clothing have been left in the gym during practices and/or tournaments.

For closures and delays, information will be sent through Sycamore Education in a  form of a text, or voice message.
