Financial Conflict of Interest: Disclosure of Foreign Financial Interests Required

All investigators working on research projects are required by to disclose financial information that may reasonably be perceived to influence their work. A web-based system called eCOI (electronic conflict of interest management) is used for these financial disclosures. This is a reminder that anyone using this system must disclose financial interests foreign sources Investigators may exclude financial interests that come from domestic institutions of higher education as defined in 20 U.S.C. 1001(a) when disclosing financial interests. These include U.S. institutions of higher education or federal, state, or local government agencies. However, investigators, including sub-recipient investigators, must disclose all financial interests received from a foreign institution of higher education or from the government of another country, including any local, provincial, or equivalent governments of another country.  For more information regarding investigator disclosures of foreign interests or if you need help using the eCOI system , contact Sefilat Ajishafe, Conflict of Interest Administrator in Research Regulatory Affairs.

Regenerative Tissue and Defense-Related Medicine Research Consortia Provide Unique Funding Opportunities

Memberships in three research conso rtia provide Rutgers with unique funding opportunities in the biomedical field. The Advanced Regenerative  Manufacturing Institute ( ARMI ) is a self-sustaining program in the expanding regenerative medicine and manufacturing industry addressing public health needs.  The Medical CBRN Defense Consortium ( MCDC ) advances development efforts to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) medical pharmaceutical and diagnostic requirements as related to enhancing the mission effectiveness of military personnel.  The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium ( MTEC ) accelerates the development of revolutionary biomedical solutions that will enhance wound healing and return America's military, veterans, and ultimately, civilians to fully functioning lives.  If you're interested in learning more about how these memberships can help advance your research, contact the Research Development team.
Funding Spotlight
Limited Submission Opportunities
The William T. Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers. The program funds five-year research and mentoring plans that significantly expand researchers' expertise in new disciplines, methods, and content areas. Awards are based on applicants' potential to become influential researchers, as well as their plans to expand their expertise in new and significant ways. Major divisions (e.g., School of Arts and Sciences, Medical School) of an institution may nominate only one applicant each year and pre-proposals must be submitted through the Rutgers Limited Submission process   . The internal application deadline is April 17, 2019.

Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation's Program Accelerate Clinical Trials
The goal of the Program to Accelerate Clinical Trials is to increase the number of innovative pharmacologic interventions tested in clinical studies for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. This RFP supports clinical trials, experimental medicine, and regulatory studies for novel drugs (small molecules and biologics including antibodies, peptides, gene therapies), repurposed drugs (existing drugs that are approved for other diseases and conditions), repositioned drugs (existing drugs that have entered clinical trials for other indications and have not yet been approved), and natural products. Letter of Intent Deadline: April 12, 2019

NSF Releases Quantum Leap Challenge Institutes (QLCI)
The National Science Foundation released a solicitation for its Quantum Leap Challenge Institutes program. These Institutes are large-scale interdisciplinary research projects that aim to advance the frontiers of quantum information science and engineering. Two types of awards will be supported under this program: 12-month Conceptualization Grants to support teams envisioning subsequent Institute proposals and five-year Challenge Institute awards to establish and operate Quantum Leap Challenge Institutes (QLCI). Letters of Intent for Conceptualization Grant proposals are due April 1, 2019. Letters of Intent for Round I of the QLCI are due June 3, 2019 with preliminary proposals due by August 1, 2019.
