JIM CHATELAIN: Home is in My Head
Paul Kotula Projects is pleased to announce the upcoming solo exhibition of recent paintings by Jim Chatelain (Detroit/Delhi, NY). Chatelain's highly idiosyncratic abstract paintings, containing an array of distilled imagery cultivated from his years in Detroit; New York City; Findlay, Ohio; and Delhi, New York, combine to form a truly singular vision. Jim Chatelain: Home is in My Head opens March 5 with a reception for the artist from 6 to 8 PM. The exhibition continues through April 4.

Ed Fraga: Rising
A solo exhibition with framed works on paper & sculptural pieces. Fraga is a Detroit artist who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wayne State University in 1980. His paintings, drawings, and artist books are in the permanent collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Cranbrook Art Museum and the Flint Institute of Arts. He has received fellowships and awards from the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, the National Endowment of the Arts, and the Awards in the Visual Arts 8. Museum shows include MOCAD, the High Museum of Art, and the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art.

Temporale: Watercolors and Drawings by Sergio De Giusti
alerie Camille is pleased to announce Temporale, a solo exhibition of the recent work of renowned artist and sculptor, Sergio De Giusti. De Giusti presents his recent series of drawings and watercolors exploring the anger and violence in nature. In Italian, Temporale means darkness, a gathering clouds and the deluge that follows. Each piece is a meditation of the forces that are making critical climate changes to our planet. The wildly tragic results from thunderstorms, hurricanes, floods, fires and tornadoes, all of which are depicted in Sergio's explosive new visions.

Considering Permenance | Tell Me Where to Go
Considering Permenance | Tell Me Where To Go opens Friday, March 6th and runs through March 12th. The forthcoming show from Cranbrook Academy of Art students Antonia Stoyanovich, Ish Ishmael, Laura D. Gibson, and Sarah Thomas showcases work that examines themes around space, control and the Anthropocene. Weaving still images, video, sound, and sculpture, they shift the paradigms of how we interact with the medium of photography. The opening will be held at the gallery Friday, March 6th between 6:00-9:00 PM.

Joe Davis: Rewired
Marfa, Texas. Population about 1800. An abnormal amount of wire collects here and there in streets and alleys all around town; a couple of years ago Joe Davis started saving it. The accidental shaping of it by being crushed under truck tires, and the rusty colored surfaces, and even the texture of it became thoroughly engaging to Davis, who began using it to make other shapes such as cubes and rectangles - re-bending it to make representational wall figures, and working on an endless series of graphite drawings of it. The original purpose of all this wire was connected primarily to the ranching business and now it's new life is filled with endless possibilities.
