Coming Soon: Two-Factor Authentication for Portal Users
Hot off the heels of the Explore+ release, Rochester RHIO is supporting an extra layer of security for accounts that use the RHIO Provider Portal. Two-factor authentication creates an extra layer of security to better protect patient health data.

If you've ever set up two-factor authentication with any of your online accounts, such as your bank, the new process will feel familiar to you. You also should be able to use your preferred tool for authentication such as Duo, Google Authenticator, and more.

Two-factor authentication will be rolled out in a phased approach starting in November. All authorized Provider Portal users will be configured by the end of the year. This change fulfills the New York State requirement that a Qualified Entity, like Rochester RHIO, authenticate platform users to the NIST Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL 2).

Cures Act: What You Need to Know When a Patient Requests Data from Rochester RHIO

Rochester RHIO is required to comply with this Rule. In a nutshell, if a patient requests their medical records via Rochester RHIO, then RHIO is expected to fulfill a patient's request for his or her data in compliance with the Rule unless an authorized exception applies. Read more...

EMS & Pharmacies Can Now Apply for State Incentive Dollars
New York's Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) is now open to qualified EMS agencies and pharmacies in our region. Qualified organizations may receive up to $13,000* for participating.

Organizations that wish to participate must contact Rochester RHIO by January 31, 2020 to enroll. DEIP was established with support from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to increase HIE adoption across the state by helping to defray the cost to connect to a Qualified Entity (QE) like Rochester RHIO.

To learn if your organization is eligible, call RHIO Support at 1-877-865-7446 (RHIO). You can also contact a Regional Account Manager directly.

Limited funding is available and this program is operated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

*Learn the details of the program by going to the RHIO Resources page.
