Updated Elementary Boundary Information
Over the last few years our community has experienced many changes in regards to where people are living within our school district. That said, this has created disparity regarding the number of students in each of our elementary buildings. To best meet the needs of our students and to help us achieve our mission of "preparing each student for a successful future", it is important that each of our elementary buildings have similar numbers of students being served in them. We've been monitoring these changes, and brainstorming ways to address this disparity over the last several months. In doing so, it has been determined that the best solution will be to update the elementary boundaries which will be implemented for the 2019-20 school year. Visit https://www.republicschools.org/boundaryupdate for additional information. Impacted families were notified via mailed letter and email the week of February 25.

2019-20 School Calendar & New Snow Day Make-Up Plans
The Board of Education approved the revised 2019-20 school calendar on February 21.  CLICK HERE to review it. The calendar was revised to reflect changes regarding newly passed section 160.041, RSMo indicating that Missouri school district's must complete a minimum of 1044 hours of student instruction and " must include a minimum of 36 weather make-up hours for possible loss of attendance due to inclement weather and half the number of additional lost or cancelled hours up to 48, resulting in no more than 60 total make-up hours."

Because of this change in legislation, the Republic School District Board of Education has approved for the district to use the three built-in holidays (MLK Day, President's Day and Good Friday) as snow day make-ups for next school year. However, NO SNOW DAYS beyond Good Friday will be made up. Therefore, the last day of school will be a half day on Thursday, May 21. Thank you to the Board of Education for this decision as it allows for families to make definite summer plans.
