from the ptsa president
Snow days!  Last week's surprise snow day was a good reminder that, although it has felt more like June than January, you never know what Mother Nature has up her sleeve! These winter days can prove challenging for FCPS as it makes decisions regarding snow day closures, delayed start times and early closings . Fairfax county is a very large county and what might seem clear in our area may be unsafe in other parts of the county.

Read about FCPS weather cancellation procedures here; follow @fcpsnews or check the FCPS website alerts to be the first to know about FCPS closures and updates ; and follow @langleysports to get the latest information on cancelled sports practices or games .

Speaking of days off, there are a bunch of school holidays and workdays in the next couple of months. Jan 20, 27 and 28 , Feb 17 and Mar 3 are all school holidays. Schedule a weekend getaway, take a college tour or just sleep in ... no matter what you choose, enjoy!
