Hope from the Heavens?
Sister Frances Marie Duncan, our provincial minister, cautiously traveled to Rome earlier this week to attend a series of congregational meetings. Just as is happening here at home and worldwide, Italy is again experiencing a resurgence of COVID-19. As the Sisters emerged from the Vatican following a socially-distanced memorial Mass for a Sister who died earlier this year, the sky was painted brilliant blue with hope in the form of this beautiful rainbow. As it was for our Sisters who witnessed it in person, may it too be for you a blessing and a glimmer of hope from God.
Blankets & Blessings
Whether you’re just home from work or settling in for the evening, there’s a place you want to be, a favorite spot in your home, comfortable clothes, maybe even a candle giving off a warm scent. There’s likely a blanket around too, whether handed down through family or bought on sale last winter. It is in these quiet moments and comfy chairs that our Sisters often find an easy connection to their spirituality.
Last Call for SFCR’s Fall Women’s Retreat
Join St. Francis Center for Renewal for its Annual Autumn Women’s Retreat, Called to Be a Saint, on Friday and Saturday, October 30-31. Every saint was a living, breathing, flawed human being. Yet, they allowed God's grace to work in them. Perhaps they can inspire you to discover your own saintly calling. A hybrid format of virtual and in-person programming will be led by Sisters M. Virginelle Makos and Marguerite Stewart.

Festival Goes Virtual
In light of the pandemic, Monocacy Farm Project’s fifth annual Monocacy Farm Food Festival is going virtual this year. The festival includes a week-long online Silent Auction event (October 19-24), featuring an array of exciting and edible items on which to bid. Online info sessions and demonstrations will be offered as another way for all to enjoy this year’s virtual experience. Click the button below to “attend” and get in on the fun.
Blanket Doo Wop
Giggle and wiggle along with the silly Taylor Family as they perform their high-energy blanket dance all around town. You may or may not want to try this at home.
On the Rise
You'll need your favorite blanket to calm the chills caused by this a cappella performance of You Raise Me Up, delivered by Peter Hollens and some 200 talented young people.
