MoVal Business United Material Handling, Inc., Makes Generous Donations to Help Seniors, Disabled, and First Responders
When Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez invited local businesses to think about ways they could help support the MoVal community during the coronavirus crisis, Ryan Bartlett immediately stepped forward. Bartlett, the President and CEO of United Material Handling, Inc. (UMH), donated $3,200 to support MoVal Meals, the City's supplemental nutrition program for seniors and residents with disabilities. He also donated 3,000 KN95 masks for use by Police and Fire. Watch the video here!
The Riverside County order requiring face coverings when outside the home has been rescinded, but face coverings are just as strongly recommended as before. Masks are NOT intended to protect the wearer; they are intended to prevent the wearer from potentially spreading coronavirus to others. Remember: Each of us has to assume we're infected with the virus and take appropriate precautions against becoming a spreader.

Honors Healthcare Workers with Fly-over
The fly-over of a KC-135 Stratotanker (refueling aircraft) and the C-17 Globemaster III (cargo aircraft) from March Air Reserve Base (MARB) in Moreno Valley this week included 17 healthcare facilities in western Riverside County. They saved the hometown fly-over of Kaiser Hospital and Riverside University Health System in MoVal for last before returning to base. Check out the video here!
"I hope all residents who saw or heard the fly-over will turn their thoughts to the brave women and men serving on the front lines of the fight to contain the coronavirus," said Mayor Gutierrez. "Healthcare workers are risking their own safety, working night and day to treat and protect the rest of us. They deserve a hero's salute like this."

There's Still Time to Take Part in the Census!
The federal Census is conducted just once every 10 years, and it determines how much federal funding Moreno Valley will receive for vital public services, including public safety, schools, and social programs. So it's very important for MoVal to get an accurate count in the 2020 Census. To help make that happen, the City has created a special Census web page to provide information in English and Spanish, including videos featuring Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez. The online Census form only takes about five minutes to complete.
Important note: The Census does NOT include a citizenship question and, by federal law, the U.S. Census Bureau must keep all collected information confidential and may NOT share it with any other government agency, law enforcement, immigration officials or landlords.
