Ryan T. Johnson brings over 15 years of experience representing clients in construction law, professional liability, and complex commercial litigation matters.

Corneilus "Con" F. Riordan brings more than four decades of experience representing contractors, sureties, and lenders in both complex litigation and transactional aspects of construction and surety law.  



Justin L. Weisberg has over 25 years of experience successfully representing private, public, local, and international clients in a variety of construction-related transactions and litigation matters.
Carmen Dutton has over four years of experience as a paralegal encompassing broad areas of law including personal injury, commercial and business litigation, insurance bad faith, real estate, and medical malpractice.
Cathrine B. Irby brings over 15 years of experience as a real estate paralegal handling review of contracts, coordination throughout the closing process, and preparation of real estate conveyance documents. 
In Memory of RSP Colleague
Robert J. Trizna
August 29,1952-August 14, 2019

RSP was saddened by the passing of partner Robert J. Trizna . This outspoken people’s advocate and devoted public servant passed away in August following a short, unexpected illness; he was 66.
Speaking Engagements
Andrès J. Gallegos participated as a panel speaker presenting on the topic Accessible Healthcare for Persons with Disabilities  to medical students and residents at the University of Illinois Chicago Medical Colloquium and Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago. Andrès also presented the workshop Acting B-A-D: A Patient Advocacy Strategy at the NCIL Ignite Conference held in Washington, D.C.
R. Kymn Harp  participated as a moderator for the IICLE® 2019 Trends Conference: What’s New in Illinois Commercial Real Estate Practice? held in Chicago. Kymn also conducted a presentation on  Property Due Diligence for Commercial Real Estate-The Four Areas of Concern, Section 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges, and Qualified Opportunity Zone Investment – What Every Real Estate Lawyer Should Know.
Emily C. Kaminski  co-presented on the topic  Probate Issues in Real Estate from a Seller Attorney's and Title Underwriting Perspective  at the Chicago Bar Association Probate Practice Committee .
Laurie A. Montplaisir , Founder of the IFA Midwest Chapter, hosted the Chapter's first educational seminar: Fraud Triangle: Understanding Warning Signs and Red Flags in Chicago. Laurie also participated as a panel speaker for the 2019 Independent Finance & Factoring Roundtable in connection with the Secured Finance Network held in Nashville. Additionally, Laurie was a moderator for the Women in Commercial Finance Roundtable sponsored by the 2019 International Factoring Association Annual Conference in San Diego.
David P. Resnick led a roundtable entitled  Challenges with Retail Leasing and Hotels  at the ICSC U.S. Shopping Center Law Conference held in San Diego.
Corneilus "Con" F. Riordan  presented at the 2019 Construction Law Seminar sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association Mechanics Lien and Construction Law Subcommittee in December. The topic was  Lien and Bond Rights on Illinois Public Projects
Justin L. Weisberg  presented at the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys' P3 Subcommittee in December. Justin presented on the topic of Public Private Partnership Fundamentals . Justin also was a speaker for HalfMoon Education, Inc. in October presenting on the topic  Current Issues in Construction Management .
Publications
R. Kymn Harp and Catherine A. Cooke   co-authored a chapter entitled  Duties, Rights and Remedies of Commercial Tenants  published in December as part of the IICLE publication Commercial Landlord-Tenant Practice 2020 Edition.
Awards & Recognition

Catherine A. Cooke   assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief of the IDC Quarterly for a one year term beginning in the third quarter of 2019. Catherine has served on the editorial board of the IDC Quarterly since 2015. The IDC Quarterly is the scholarly legal journal published by the Illinois Association Defense Trial Counsel (IDC). The IDC Quarterly features in-depth analysis of important case law developments, legislative updates, and relevant practice tips authored by attorneys throughout Illinois who devote a substantial portion of their practice to the representation of business, corporate, insurance, professional, and other individual defendants in litigation.


Andrés J. Gallegos was honored by the Progress Center for Independent Living, at its 2019 Liberty Gala, receiving the Liberty Award, in recognition of his advocacy for persons who are Deaf and their families.


R. Kymn Harp  was appointed to serve as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association's Real Estate Law Section Council for 2019-2020.

Thomas A. Jefson  was selected for Illinois Super Lawyers 2018-2019 in the area of Estate Planning and Probate. Super Lawyers recognizes outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.


Corneilus "Con" F. Riordan was elected president to the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys for 2019-2020.


Richard Lee Stavins   was appointed Acting Editor of the Chicago Bar Record, a law review publication of the Chicago Bar Association.




Justin L. Weisberg   was elected treasurer to the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys.


Thomas P. Yardley  received the Award for Excellence in  Pro Bono  Service presented by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
