Spring Band Performance
On Friday May 28, each SLPMS band class put on an in-person performance where it was video-recorded by St. Louis Park's "ParkTV".

As we all know, this year brought so many unprecedented challenges especially with each class transitioning from distance learning, to hybrid, to fully in-person learning all in one semester. That being said, I was truly blown away by the work ethic, growth, and camaraderie that each class showcased in preparation for this performance. I am so incredibly proud of each and every student!

In the video below you will see and hear what the band experience looked and sounded like this semester. I believe that it will be special and memorable for our SLPMS community to have this video-recording as an artifact to remember this school year. I hope you enjoy!

Looking for Host Families for Global Interns
The middle school is excited to be bringing back Global Interns for the 2021-22 school year!   Global Interns are a great addition to our classrooms and make connections with many of our students, not only PSI students. Global Interns bring an exciting energy to the classroom and are eager to be involved in the SLP community. We are looking forward to hosting two more interns at the middle school. One is Angela from Spain and we are currently interviewing candidates to fill the other intern position.  We are looking for two host families for the fall semester-late August through the end of January and two more host families for next spring- late January through the end of the school year in 2022.  The main requirement is the intern must have their own legal bedroom. It is a great opportunity for your family to learn about another culture while introducing the Global Intern to Minnesota and our community in St Louis Park. You do not need to be a PSI family. All middle school families are welcome to host. There is no requirement for families to know Spanish as the interns are also fluent in English. We are currently in a global pandemic and the interns will often be coming from countries with more restrictions than the United States.  Information is fluid and the governments of the countries represented as well as the program that facilitates the Global Interns are dedicated to making the experience safe. My family has hosted an intern the last two years and had great experiences with lasting friendships.  Please reach out to me if you are interested or have questions. Karita Bentley at [email protected]
Freshman Orientation - Class of 2025
Freshman Orientation is planned for Thursday, September 2 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., with a parent/caregiver orientation the previous evening, Wednesday, September 1 at 7 p.m.

Students will get their class schedules, be able to tour the building and attend the Activity Fair to learn about all the great things going on at SLPHS.

More information regarding both these events will be in the back to school mailing in early August.

*Please note - the first day of school for the 2021-22 school year is Wednesday, September 8.
Immunization Requirements for 7th Grade Students in the 2021-2022 School Year
In accordance with Minnesota Immunization Law, students entering 7th grade for the 2021-2022 school year are required to have documentation of vaccinations received or a legal exemption for TDaP and meningococcal vaccines.

If you need exemption information, the legal exemption form is available on the MDH website: www.health.state.mn.us/people/immunize/basics/imzform.pdf

Should you have concerns about costs, ask your child’s healthcare provider about low-cost vaccinations or contact Central Clinic at 952-993-1100.

After your student has completed the requirements noted above, send a copy of the immunization record or legal exemption to the Middle School Health Office at:
