July Update

  • Placemaking-Hayward Follow-up Workshop – SCLCOEDC would like to thank all those attending our July 18 meeting. Plans for the public nodes were further refined and plans made for taking the next steps toward improvements. Northwest Regional Planning Commission will be generating a report based on all your hard work. Watch for it coming in August!   • We will be hosting a local Entrepreneur Training Program at Hayward Area Memorial Center and Water’s Edge beginning Tuesday, September 24th from 6:00-8:30 pm. This will be an 8-week program including a panel of local entrepreneurs. To find out more: info@sclcoedc.com

Board Member Spotlight
Desmonde Bennett
SELF-EMPLOYED ATTORNEY

Desmonde joined the board in May 2018. Before moving to the Northwoods in 2015, Desmonde lived in New Orleans for 7 years where she attended law school and practiced as an attorney. Since moving to Wisconsin, Desmonde now works as a part-time staff attorney with Wisconsin Judicare. She also runs a remote consulting company for attorneys in Louisiana and writes on the side for outdoors media outlets as a member of the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers. In her spare time, Desmonde enjoys fishing, cooking, playing with her huskies, and pretty much anything outside. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Senior Resource Center and is a co-host on the Wisconsin Northland Outdoors radio show. Meet more of our board members at www.sclcoedc.com.
