It's happening! This July the Stallion Way project will break ground! With the new drive connecting Ferris Road to our campus, students will gain an additional access and departure point to/from the south parking lot. It will also make the student commute safer, plus alleviate traffic on Karl Road. Follow the progress taking place to the Stallion Way on the school's social media pages throughout July.

Congratulations to Anmarie Trolli '24 who had her piece “Noises and Colors” accepted to the Thurber House publication Flip the Page: Central Ohio's Teen Literary Journal. Anmarie will have her work published in the 2021 issue, which will be available on Amazon in late June.

We welcome Derrick Henderson to the Stallion family as the new Ice Hockey Head Coach. Henderson previously served as the junior varsity coach for the Pickerington Prowlers, and as the goalie instructor for Easton Youth Hockey Association Teams. He also spent three seasons as the head coach of the Ohio State University’s Women’s Club Ice Hockey Team.

Congratulations to our Construction Technology teacher Mrs. Kim Gattis on being named a finalist for the 2021 Teachers of the Year awards, presented by Columbus Parent and ThisWeek Community News.

This vaccination clinic is for everyone who received their first COVID vaccination at the SFD vaccination clinic on May 22 and 23. They will receive their second dose.

Reminders:

St. Francis DeSales High School is looking for parents to volunteer for the school Meals on Wheels route! We deliver to households in the area surrounding our school each Friday. Training will be provided for new volunteers. Openings are available for this summer and fall. Contact Director of Service Jack Welsh (welsh@desales.co) for more information.

*All Junior students are required to submit verification of a second dose of the MCV4 (meningococcal) vaccine prior to the start of their senior year. It is a requirement for all incoming seniors in Ohio. Families can email the verification information to school nurse Kelli Fitzpatrick at fitzpatrick@desales.co or bring in a hard copy to school.

COVID-19 Vaccines are now available for ages 12 and up! Please check with your student’s Primary Care Office for scheduling.
