Here is why some of you are receiving this...
This is linked to LA Dance Festival, where you can directly click into the free streaming dance program on the Luckman Theater site. Of course we want you to see the piece of ours we have been describing, which plays at 1:19:27 called Alone 2020, but I saw the program last night and the other companies are exciting and diverse. See them listed, also with their links on ladancefest.org

We are sending to some of you that are from the Arts Midwest + WAA list, especially if you are a presenter, agent, or dance company who works with dance. If so, you can still visit our booth for a few more days, I think until the 19th, and you can still see the amazing programming thru Oct 31. I especially recommend the closing plenary with a Conversation with Theaster Gates. It was one of the highlights. We are making up some 1-minute demos to show you the variety of both our educational and concert dance programming, but sending this now because of LA Dance Festival (see other column) is streaming a free festival this week-end and we are in it. Next week-end will be a different program. See that article for link.
A New Urban and Tribal Dances in Progress
Urban and Tribal Dances is about people of present, past, or slightly future time in an urban setting. The 6-part suite was to be revived at the Ivy Substation in Culver City this past July, but it was cancelled with the Pandemic lingering for months. It was just one in a series of cancelled performances. But we are looking forward to creating something in Culver City as 2020 draws to a close. The company will be reimagining the critically acclaimed Urban and Tribal Dances in a Virtual Cinematic version using both the
original material and new material created for filming.
Virtual residencies at schools this fall
Usually we have about a dozen schools in the fall, but the Pandemic is severely limiting the LAUSD's arts programs with the Arts Community Partnership (ACN) and we are grateful for educational funds from the CA Arts Council. Please help match these for our residencies at Plainview Academic and Danube Elementary where we are returning with new programs (virtual of course). We are also working with Middle School students at Logan St. If you are interested in our Virtual educational programs- here is the link.
If you are part of the LAUSD, we are also part of the new Partners For School Success (PFSS), so please check there for funding help.
Our Company Mission and Website connection
Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers presents soulful, imaginative dance/theatre/multimedia works that take audience members on their own journey of self-discovery.

See our web-site for information on our concert repertory with works for general & dance audiences, and for Family Audiences. Read about our educational programs for youth, and even with the Pandemic served more than 15,720 young people this past year. Our special projects including producing the San Pedro Festival of the Arts (virtual version just finished) and the Southern CA Dance Directory. Bring us to your venue, whether in Los Angeles, in the US, or abroad. (A note about our LAC&D company home page- disregard the 'learn more'- a remnant from our own recent San Pedro Festival of the Arts that is too stubborn to leave for good. That one will reopen for a few days next month. Email us for specific dates.)
